100 Day!!!

On Friday, Noah's class celebrated the 100th day of school. They had many activities dealing with the number 100. They made 100 day crowns, fruit loop necklace with 100 fruit loops, what would you buy with 100 dollars, bags with 100 pieces of different snacks. The idea was to teach the kids how to count to 100 in increments of 10.

The party concluded with a 100 day cake covered with 100 candles. As you can see it looks more like a fire ball on the cake instead of candles. All the kids had a lot of fun. What a great way to celebrate 100 days at Athena Montessori. Here are some fun pictures to enjoy.

Gabe holding the cake with the 100 candles.
Noah's 100 day crown and fruit loop necklace! As you can see some of the kids got hungry and started eating the fruit loops off their necklaces.
Maya admiring one of the class rats Violet. They are staring eye to eye.
Noah trying to keep Maya out of the snack bowls. She kept sneaking out skittles.
Noah drawing what he would by with $100 dollars. He said that he would buy a dinosaur. Although I guess he changed his mind cause he ended up deciding to draw a refrigerator.

The Mosaic!
Each kid in the class was told to bring 100 of any item that they wanted.
With the 100 items from each kid, they made a huge mosaic. Noah decided to bring 100 chocolate basketballs. Some other things included baseball card, swedish fish, pasta, jelly beans, and coins.
The kids surrounding the mosaic and singing songs.

While the kids counted in french to 50 and 50 in english, Gabe stacked 100 montessori counting cubes. It was a great show, it was almost as tall as him and it kept falling apart.
