Blooms at the Buchanan's!

Here are just some of the blooms around our house. Some we planted this year some we planted 1 or 2 years ago. It's nice to see the beautiful colors and lively green color around our house.

Bottlebrush plants that we planted a few years ago.
Beautiful purple rose blooms from a rose bush that has been here for many years.
Our windmill with bottlebrush that has atleast grown a couple of feet since we planted.
Rose bushes we planted when we moved in, only sprout maybe 4 or 5 blooms if we are lucky.
Noah's red plant that he planted is doing great with all the watering and the rain.

Maya's birthday present from Mommy and Noah!

Noah and I took Maya yesterday for her to pick out her birthday present. Of course, she picked a baby, since she LOVES babies, real or not! She found this life-like baby, actually weight like a newborn, maybe 4lbs? Maya's size 5 huggies fits on her.
She loved it so much since it was sleeping, she was going SHHH.. baby.. SHH.. baby to it in the store. So she decided that this was what she wanted. Well, we got home and she was pretty content playing with her baby. Later on in the evening she's holding the baby again, and I hadn't seen it for a couple of hours, but when I did I noticed that somehow Maya found a green permanent marker and colored up her face. I was so upset, but thought it was funny. I tried everything from bleach to alcohol to get it off. I googled and today we are going to get nail polish remover to try and see if that gets it off, if not well, green scribbles it is.
Maybe her name with be Scribbles.
The new mommy!

48 cupcakes for only 10 people!

For playgroup on Wednesday I had decided that we would have a little "party" for Maya's 2nd birthday. I was told that a lot of people were bound to show up, we are having another ward (the parkwood ward) merge with the Sunset Valley Ward, due to the new boundary change. I told myself ok, I hope I get enough. I bought 48 cupcakes at HEB (luckily they weren't that expensive). We showed up at the park and I waited to see how many people would show. Well, I think only about 10 people showed up. I only had about 6 eat cupcakes! Iwas left with 3 full boxes plus some. I ended up giving a full box that was chocolate away, ans was left with 2 for the house! Guess, I was a little disappointed, no birthday song, no party!
That's ok Robb as been enjoying them!
Maya can't wait to have a cupcake!
YUMMY... Mummy!
Icing Queen!

Playgroup!!!

On Wednesday we hosted playgroup at the Southpark Meadows playground. It is a great playground with lots of fun things to do. Here are some cute pictures of Noah and Maya.
Lately, they have been acting like best friends, which is cute to watch.

Look how long my little baby's legs are getting!

Noah testing out his skills!
Look at those happy faces!
Maya showing off her flexibility!

The Next Picasso!

On Wednsday, our project of the day was painting little piggy banks. Maya really loves painting as you can see from these pictures!

Guess she forgot that she was supposed to paint the piggy and not herself.

Noah's first soccer game!

On Saturday Noah has his first ever soccer game. Their team now is the ROCKETS!!
He was so excited! He did so great, I am so proud of him.
Noah scored one of the goals and was so excited. He called Grandma Kirk and said grandma I made 3 goals, he was so happy! He did great keeping up with all the kids, and with his long legs he is a great kicker!
If you talk to him ask him about his soccer game! He has one every Saturday, so if your in Austin anytime from now till the end of May, stop by and see our soccer star!
Noah thought the most exciting thing about soccer was you get to wear shin gards and cool soccer shoes!
GO ROCKETS!!!
Here's a shot of Noah before we left for his soccer game. They haven't gotten their team shirts just yet so he picked out his own.

Here he is with some of his teammates.

Marshmallow Roasting with Missionaries!

We invited the missionaries to come over on there day off and roast marshmallows and make smores. After preparing breakfast for dinner at the missionaries request (guess they don't get that many people to make them breakfast) we headed out to our makeshift fire pit in the back. It was great, Noah loved roasting the marshmallow but didn't eat any of them. Elder Harringburg made Maya a smore and once she got the hang of what it was, chocolate was all over! When Noah was bored of roasting mallows he started playing hide and go seek with both elders. They would climb high in the cedar trees and Noah would have no clue where they were. After much running we all decided to head up to the front of the house and hang out on the chairs and talk. They just loved playing with Maya and Noah. They are a great couple of missionaries. Here are some fun pictures of our Monday marshmallow evening.

Canoeing!

On Sunday after Conference I suggested we go canoeing at Zilker Park. We took off and boy were the kids excited. Noah was so excited but was a little nervous in the begining when the boat was rocking back and forth when everyone was getting in. Maya was nervous as well in the begining but they ended up loving it. To bad it wasn't just a little bit cooler that day. Here are some pictures to enjoy. This was Maya's first canoe trip!

Mommy, Noah, and Maya... Our trip to Botanical Gardens!

Yesterday, after Noah got out of school, I told myself that I was going to take the kids somewhere for an hour or so just to get them out of the house. I decided we would head to the Botanical Gardes since I figured it was in bloom. We had a great time, the three of us. The flowers were so beautiful. Here are some pictures to enjoy.

Such beautiful roses!

If you look closely you can see a lady bug on the flower.
